Our Projects

At the Young Carers Academy we're committed to empowering the lives of Young Carers by providing them with all the resources they need to be the leaders of tomorrow whilst being their best selves. Our projects ensure that all of our fabulously talented young careers succeed in all the different aspects of life - at home, in school and in our community. Take a look at our variety of programs, and learn about everything we have to offer today!

Well Arty

The fabulous Well Arty project is a programme between The Young Carers Academy, Conwy Fusion and artist, Elly Strigner.

Focusing on developing your wellbeing by being arty and creative, Young Carers from Conwy are invited to join us and learn how to make truly beautiful things that reflect how wonderful they are.

This could be accomplished by creating an identity through designing fantastical outfits, by taking some time to chill out and be calm by taking your drawing into the outside world.

There are lots of things to do and we provide all of the materials you will need! All you have to do is join the Young Carers Academy (you can do that HERE), we will send you your welcome packs and materials and you can view all the creative 'how to' films to guide you on your creative journey!

The Forest

Spending time outdoors and enjoying the nature that surrounds us is so important when it comes to wellbeing. This correlation was uncovered during one of our ‘big conversations’ with Young Carers across Wales who said they’d enjoy spending more time camping, learning about vegetation and trees and planting them, too!

Join in with our team of Young Carers, Llais y Goedwig, Natural Resources Wales, The Woodland Trust and National Forest Wales to see how you can benefit from exploring nature and getting outdoors!

Creativity with Penglais and Rhyl Highschools

This was a joint project between Young Carers at Penglais and Rhyl High-schools who became part of our Creative Team here at the Young Carers Academy.

The amazing Young Carers came up with some fabulous ideas for our logo and branding, and with the help of the wonderful young artists at Coleg Menai, we were able to fulfil the Young Carers’ visions and make them a reality – resulting in the branding you see today!
